Michael Jordan Could be Selling His Majority Stake in Charlotte Hornets
It’s been reported that Michael Jordan is looking to sell his majority stake in the Charlotte Hornets. Allegedly he’s been engaged in numerous discussions, and a couple of the team’s minority owners, have emerged as front-runners.
Of those include Gabe Plotkin, and Atlanta Hawks’ minority owner, Rick Schnall. Both are looking to acquire Jordan’s stake, who bought it for $275M back in 2010. We imagine the price tag will be just as hefty, or more.
“Purchasing the Bobcats [Charlotte’s former team name] is the culmination of my post-playing career goal of becoming the majority owner of an NBA franchise. I am especially pleased to have the opportunity to build a winning team in my home state of North Carolina.”
